The Shogun table lamp made of metal is today part of the Master ‚Pieces collection by Artemide. It was already designed in 1968 by the Swiss architect Mario Botta. Its status as a design icon is certainly also due to the fact that it can be seen in all the important design museums of the world, from the Metropolitan Museum in NY to the Vitra Design Museum.

Shogun has similarities with Botta’s architectural designs: Control of light, search for a simplicity of forms in a balance of richness and sobriety. It consists of a painted metal rod to which two adjustable diffusers made of perforated sheet steel are attached.
