these chairs feel like the work of an engineer turned sculptor rather than a designers style. and they are: gigi sabadin, born 1930 in citadella, italy, trained as a metalworker. always in search of technical and formal inventions, his designs combine profound technical knowledge, understanding of materials and aesthetic research. well known are his inventive designs in bent plywood, folding and stacking chairs, impressive through innovative functionality, combining art, craft and trade.

set of 4 „pala“ dining chairs designed by gigi sabadin for emme, italy, ca. 1973. the circular seat is covered with ropework, the sculptural chairs are made of beech plywood. good vintage condition, the chairs shows some signs and losts of wear and use from over the years.
