Sold, sorry.
one of the most famous and recognizable sixties furniture designs is the platner chair. american architect and designer warren platner developed a whole series of wire furniture in 1962. each piece is made of hundreds of nickel-plated steel rods, welded by hand, what made the production extremely complex and intricate. the chairs immediately attracted a great deal of attention – and fame: cult detective columbo, played by peter falk, chills 1968 in platner’s easy chair and a whole lounge of platner chairs is blown up in 007 ‚quantum of solace‘.
this set of four platner chairs is is in a very good vintage condition. the chairs newly upholstered and covered with coral-red cotton velvet from raf simons kvadrat-collection (100 000 martingale). the metal has tarnished and has small spots of rust film.
