The Poney.
the ‚poney‘ swivel chair, designed by gianni moscatelli for formanova, radiates the prototypical charm of the seventies: a small cocktail chair, but also suitable for the dining table. elegant and comfortable, but also futuristic thanks to its stainless steel base. originally available in six different versions these are the early 4-star-legs on castors. the special thing about these chairs is that the backrest does not protrude over the edge of the table, yet they are still extremely comfortable to sit on.
moscatelli developed many impressive designs for formanova, like the ‚alessandra‘ and ‚micaela‘ series, tables and desks, sofas, easy chairs and recliners.
set of six swivelling chairs, solid brushed steel base, 4-star-legs forming a mono column, revolving padded seat with back/arm shell, upholstered in a green/purple iridescent kvadrat fabric. formanova makers mark engraved on the steel base. chairs are in a good vintage condition, the bases shows a distinct patina on the surface.
we collected this set of chairs individually over the years. the chairs come from two different production phases, which can be seen in the invisible substructure of the seat and felt in the type of armrest upholstery.
two chairs have slightly softer armrest upholstery and a more delicate seat support under the chair. when viewed as a group, the difference in the armrests is hardly noticeable.
available: set of 2, 4 or six.
