the opposite of standardized industrial goods and the best thing that can happen to individualists are unique pieces of furniture, handmade by artists or craftsmen. that’s why we are thrilled with this find during our italian search-and-rescue-tour this year: a complete set of handmade cement garden furniture, decorated with a mosaic of ceramic shards. stylistically, the design could be described as expressionist modern, with a touch of hippies and hobbits. the whole set has a wonderful weathered patina, still with dry lichen growth.
